Kodak Alaris has enhanced its portfolio of award-winning document scanners with the launch of two new high performance network desktop models. Designed to support distributed, document-driven environments, the KODAK N2040 and N2050 Scanners enable organisations to seamlessly transform paper into accurate, actionable, digital information, everywhere work happens.
The N2000 Series Scanners combine production-grade image science with the simplicity and footprint of a desktop unit. The N2040 is capable of processing up to 40 pages per minute (ppm) / 80 images per minute (ipm) and the N2050 up to 50 ppm / 100 ipm, and the recommended daily volume is up to 6,000 / 8,000 pages respectively.
With their compact size, the new scanners are ideal for use in small to medium-sized businesses, branch offices, reception and administrative desks, and enterprises with remote workers. They establish a single capture standard that scales seamlessly from a single workstation to an entire fleet, ensuring operational consistency across every location, and maintaining high quality, consistent data flows throughout the business.
Both models deliver exceptional image quality and superior paper protection capabilities. Perfect Page technology delivers consistent high quality images that are better than the original at the smallest file size – cutting storage costs, while the unique Dual light illumination feature eliminates shadows and other artifacts that often occur when scanning damaged originals, further improving image quality and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) accuracy.Versatile media handling capability means the N2000 Series can handle a wide array of paper sizes, shapes and weights, while modular flatbed options enable a single workstation to handle everyday batches as well as bound books, fragile items and passports.
The N2000 Series Scanners feature a 100-sheet feeder and enterprise-grade security, with Secure Boot and signed firmware ensuring only trusted code runs, encrypted connections protecting data in transit, and Digital Stamping embedding date, time, and sequence information into every image for audit-ready records by default.
The new scanners are easy to set-up and use; onboard Gigabit Ethernet and Network EasySetup enforce a standard configuration across the entire fleet. Bundled software includes TWAIN, ISIS, WIA Drivers; Smart Touch and KODAK Capture Pro LE, enabling knowledge workers to capture out of the box with no additional licenses to procure. In addition, an intuitive 3.5-inch LED control panel makes them easy to integrate into business processes and applications, and Smart Touch technology enables customised scanning workflows with one-touch simplicity.
KODAK N2000 Series Scanners have achieved EPEAT Gold Registered status and meet ENERGY STAR guidelines for energy efficiency and for the reduction of hazardous substances and waste products.
Megan Bevilacqua, Director of Global Product Management & Channel Operations at Kodak Alaris said: “Distributed organisations don’t have a scanner problem; they have a standardisation problem. When every site captures differently, the cost shows up later as rework, delays and audit findings. The N2000 Series give them one capture standard they can deploy everywhere and defend when it counts. This way, multiple departments such as customer service, accounts and claims all produce the same trustworthy record.”
